1. Nature of the Reference
Davis Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public-record indexes, rolls, portals, and historical collections concerning Davis, Yolo County, and California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with the City of Davis, Yolo County, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, or custodians named in its links.
2. Lawful Use Rules
Use the pages and anything reached through them only for lawful purposes. You may not use the reference to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
- Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act
- Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency
Davis Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search provider, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose governed by the FCRA.
4. Third-Party Links
Yolo County portals, City of Davis request systems, California lookups, UC Davis collections, archives, and sponsored search providers maintain their own rules and privacy practices. Davis Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, pricing, security, or data handling. A visitor uses an outside service at that service's own terms.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The reference is provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, fact, fee, link, portal, search result, or coverage statement is accurate, complete, current, secure, or continuously available. The custodian should be consulted before anyone relies on a record.
6. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this reference or an outside resource linked from it. This includes an action taken from an index, directory, search result, or record reached through the pages.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless the operators of Davis Residents Directory from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.
8. Original Content
The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is allowed. Reproducing a full page or systematically copying the reference is not permitted without written authorization.
9. Updates
The operators may revise these terms by publishing a new version here. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms to the extent permitted by law.
10. Access Restrictions
Access may be blocked or limited for a person who violates these terms, abuses a linked service, threatens the reference, or interferes with its operation. A restriction may be imposed without advance notice when needed to protect the pages or other visitors.
11. California Governing Law
California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record references are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following, including Davis and agency access provisions in sections 7921.000-7921.010 and exemptions in sections 7930.000-7930.215. California privacy references include the Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100-1798.199.100, and the Delete Act, section 1798.99.80 and following.
12. Severability
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The invalid portion will be limited or removed only as far as necessary.
13. Questions
Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Record requests themselves must go to the Yolo County, City of Davis, California, court, library, archive, or other custodian that holds the requested record.
